GROUNDING YOURSELF

This is a good time for healing. For all of us.

We can use art as an escape, but we can also use it as a tool to ask ourselves, "Who am I today?"

Art is more than a bandage to a wound. It is the hand to unwrap us.

There are no mistakes in it. You do not need to fight to survive in front of a canvas or while molding clay.

The life of many artists throughout history has been wrought with chaos, and extremes.

Society isn't set up in such a way that it is easy to find your inner power, but nature is.

Find time for yourself in nature, feet grounded to the earth. Bring your children, or a friend. Write something there, breathe in the cold air, draw a spiral in the sand, feel a moment of freedom. Create anything in that moment and you will be successful. There is so much within you and every distraction in the world makes it easy to forget that.

"There is a pleasure in the pathless woods,

There is a rapture on the lonely shore,

There is society, where none intrudes,

By the deep sea, and music in it's roar:

I love not man the less, but Nature more."

-Lord Byron
